You have just given them a choice they can't refuse.
Of course there are drawbacks to this venture. If you are not somewhat tech savvy you might find it a little intimidating at first, setting up a database, uploading and configuring the files, installing a payment button and so on. Maintaining your newly built site can also be time consuming, You must constantly add new products, retain a quality customer support service and like any website you have to promote it each and everyday which could be costly if you're on a small budget. These are just slight vices which you can quickly overcome with some research and knowledge on your part.
Don't allow the drawbacks to owning and operating a membership site discourage you, the benefits far out weight the initial start up stage. Once you get past the first steps to building your new membership site you'll be reaping the rewards far into the future.
